Custom Seat Hoop by First City MOTO.

Do you have an old vintage motorcycle that you are wanting to turn into a one of a kind custom cafe racer / brat / tracker / scrambler? Wondering how you are going to make that custom seat hoop? Don't have the a tube bender or the correct size dies? No way to machine the slugs? Well with this kit you don't have to deal with trying to fabricate your own parts. Just cut/fit it to the correct length, insert the alignment slugs and weld it up.

Our seat /rear tail hoops are created using 1" (25mm) DOM steel tubing with a .065" wall thickness. We use this thickness because most OEM frames are constructed using the same thickness of tubing. Our hoops are precision bent 180 degrees with a 7-7/8" (+/- 1/8") centerline. The outside-to-outside measurement is 8-7/8" (+/- 1/8"). The overall length of our standard FCMoto seat /rear tail hoops (from outside edge of bend to end of tubing) is 10". This allows additional material for trimming in most applications. If you need a longer one please choose the size you need from the dropdown box. There is an added cost for longer hoops to cover the larger packaging, more material and added shipping costs.
*We only keep the standard size (10") hoops in stock. Longer hoops may take an extra day or so to make and ship.

We include two machined alignment slugs to help keep the tubes aligned and provide a backing during welding. These slugs also add additional strength to the welded joint.

IMPORTANT! Please Read:

Installation of this item requires some level of manual dexterity, mechanical ability and fabrication skills.

Keep in mind that aftermarket seat hoops are a universal part and may required some additional tweaking (cutting, bending, welding) to fit your application perfectly.  This is NOT a bolt on item. In most cases you will want to cut the legs to your desired length and do some slight bending in/out (depending on your application and the size hoop you purchased) to get it to fit perfectly. Be sure to measure your frame where you are going to cut it and get the size closest to your measurement. The hoop legs can be easily opened or closed by placing one leg in a vice and sliding a longer tube over the other leg and pushing/pulling in or out.

In some cases the hoop may need to be cut in the center of the bend and a small straight piece of tubing welded in to get the desired width if there is not a big enough hoop available. and maybe even the opposite, a small piece taken out and then welded back together. Remember, these universal hoops are a starting point.

These seat hoops usually work best for 500cc to 750cc bikes depending on the builders desired look. The following is a list of some bikes that these seat hoops have been installed on.

  • Honda CB750 DOHC
  • Honda CB750 SOHC

* Although others have successfully used this size hoop on these bikes listed, PLEASE BE SURE TO MEASURE YOUR FRAME and decide what hoop will work best for you.
